All New Arriva Wright Streetdecks

Hello, our first proper NEWS Update Post yes you read that right, today I went over to Liverpool to get some new Photo's of the new Arriva Northwest Buses currently operating on the 10/10B & 14 between Liverpool, Croxteth & Huyton. As this is my first New's Update post I will be talking more about the buses theme self's. The bus you can see here is fleet numbered 4731 heading for a break as it has just finished a service on the 10.

The new Buses are part of a multi million pound upgrade and they are Wright Streetdeck Buses from Wright Bus in Ireland. At first when these buses came out a few years ago, I wasn't so keen on them I didn't really like the design. The interior on these buses are basic at best, they do have USB Point's as well and the Bus also has Free Wifi which sadly I didn't test out.

On Board Announcement's

There is also Onboard Announcements on these buses displaying the Destination & The next stop including the Time & Date too. It's an interesting concept as we don't usually have onboard announcements on buses across Merseyside, that's usually based in London! However I believe it is a nice addition especially if your in the Dark of an evening and your not sure where you are you can glance at the screen and it will tell you what the next Bus stop is.

The USB Points are also a nice addition to New Buses, the Buses I use the 432/433 sadly don't have USB Points as they where bought back in 2013 when they weren't really as popular onboard buses. However these new Streetdecks are a step up from what I ride on into Liverpool from Wallasey. I am hoping to get a more wider experience traveling to Huyon on one of the new Buses sometimes this week just to get a better feel of what there like on long distances.

Having spoke to a couple of the drivers out today on these buses, a couple of them have said that they find the bus to be fairly slow when the bus is really full and find it hard to drive it. They also mentioned that it takes some time to get used to the new engines as well as they aren't Diesel they are Petrol so slightly different way of driving. My plans with these news updates is to provide you with as much detail as possible and also include quotes from the Companies head teams.
Richard Hoare, Arriva North West and Wales Commercial Director said  “We are delighted to be able to commit such a strong level of investment into the Merseyside bus network, we recognise public transport as one of the key ways to help protect our environment for the future and save our planet! That is why we are proud to be introducing 34 Ultra low emission vehicles into our fleet.”

I am also aware that Arriva have purchased about 14 Single Deck Wright Streetlite Buses in Southport, I plan to do a separate  post on those sometime next week. I am really looking forward to getting back into the Bus Scene & Bus World and taking more photo's, creating some travel vlogs & bus spotting videos as well over on my Instagram Page where you can follow me which is - ukbusspotting. My goal as I said previously for this Blog is to talk about some of the new buses coming to Merseyside including other parts of the Country and just documenting the UK Bus Scene as a whole!
