Arriva in Southport's new Streetlite Buses!

 

SV71 BFY - 6012 49 to Crossens 

Hello, today I went to Southport to check out the brand-new Arriva North West Wright Streetlite Buses operating on service's 46/49. Between Crossens & Woodvale. These brand-new Wright Streetlite Buses are a batch of 10 operating on the route every 10 minutes. These new buses bring USB Charging Points, Comfy Seating & Air Condition, which will be nice in the summer months when it gets really warm. There is also On-Board Announcements as well with a large display in the middle near the front telling you which stops are next.

I have to say though, my initial thoughts on these new Buses are very nice, smooth however when the bus was braking and coming to a stop, it felt quite jolty, you where pushed forward by the force of the breaks them self's, that was my first thought on those buses. However this could be just because they are brand new and haven't been run in fully yet so I hope that will have less of an effect as they get used more often.

I also have to mention that the Interior of this bus I felt was really nicely done, the seat covers where nice too, the seats them self's where comfy not too hard, not too soft unlike some train operator's out there! As well as this, I mentioned the bus had USB Socket's & Announcements too, they where loud and clear. I also want to note that the Driver who was on my bus was very friendly, chatted to me and also let make take a few photo's at the end!

Inside the Wright Streetlite

So as you can see a lovely, clean & tidy interior, one thing I noticed about these shorter Wright Streetlite's are they have only one window on either side which can be opened? Which at first I thought was a bit strange, however the bus is short, there is also Air Conditioning on this Bus as well. I also forgot to grab a photo of the Longer version of the Wright Streetlite as there's a mix of WF & DF Versions of the Streetlite operating on the 49/46 by Arriva.

Finally I want to say thanks to the Driver of the bus on the 49 that I was riding on to Crossens, he was very nice and allowed me to get a few photo's. I even managed to grab a Photo of the cab of the Wright streetlite & if am honest, I felt that it looked rather cramped! Obviously it's a small bus and can only have so many passengers on it at  (At one time), so there needs to be room for a Wheel Chair & Space for all the Seats
